This repository holds documentation, client configuration and agent skills only. The server is hosted by Truthifi at https://api.truthifi.com/mcp; there is nothing to build or run.

Claude (web or desktop; then available on mobile): Customize → Connectors → + → Add custom connector → paste https://api.truthifi.com/mcp and leave Advanced settings empty. On Team or Enterprise, an Owner adds it first under Organization settings → Connectors.
ChatGPT (web): ChatGPT connects custom MCP servers through developer mode, which OpenAI describes as intended for developers; read OpenAI's guidance before turning it on. Then create an app, paste https://api.truthifi.com/mcp and choose OAuth. Which ChatGPT plans can use it, and whether tools that change data are allowed, is set by OpenAI; current steps: https://truthifi.com/connect.

34 tools. Truthifi's access to your bank and brokerage accounts is read-only: nothing your AI assistant does through Truthifi can move money, place trades or change settings there. Three tools change data inside Truthifi only, marked below.

About Truthifi
Truthifi is unlocking agentic finance for everyone. We believe a household should own the record of its financial life: everything comes in, and nothing goes out unless the household says so.

Plans, credits, access and your data
Plans and credits. Each tool call uses the credits shown in the Tools table above; tools marked 0 are free. Each Truthifi plan that includes MCP access has a daily and a monthly allowance of AI tool credits, and a free plan is enough to try the server. Your assistant can call get_subscription_info (free) to see your plan, credits used and which tools you can use, and get_subscription_catalog (free) to compare plans. What your assistant receives. Tool results contain your financial data, such as accounts, balances, holdings, transactions, fees and advisor details. They are sent to the AI assistant you connected and are then handled under that provider's terms and privacy policy, not Truthifi's.
Approving access. When you connect an assistant, Truthifi asks you to sign in and then shows a consent screen naming the application and listing what it can read and the two things it can change, with Authorize and Cancel buttons. Nothing is shared until you choose Authorize.
The three tools that change data. They change data inside Truthifi only. None of them can move money, place trades or change anything at your bank or brokerage.

It shows a preview first and saves only after you confirm.delete_asset_liabilitypermanently deletes one asset or liability you track by hand. It applies only to items you added by hand, never to linked accounts.run_scanrefreshes one connection's data now instead of waiting for the automatic refresh. It uses 3 credits, re-reads data and never changes anything at the institution.
Most assistants also ask for your approval before they call a tool, depending on their settings.
Revoking access. In the Truthifi app, open Settings to see the AI assistants you've connected, choose which accounts each one can see, and revoke an assistant's access. Revoking stops that assistant's access from Truthifi's side. You can also remove the connector in the assistant itself. To request access to or deletion of your data, email [email protected].
Security and privacy
- Your assistant can't move money, place trades or change anything at your bank or brokerage. Three tools change data inside Truthifi only.
- Data the tools return goes to the AI assistant you chose and is handled under that provider's terms.
- OAuth sign-in; credentials never pass through the chat.
