Plus AI MCP
Use AI to create professionally designed, fully-editable PowerPoint presentations with any AI agent. This is the official plugin for Plus AI's remote MCP server, for ChatGPT, Claude, Cursor, Grokbot and any other MCP client.
You: Make a 10-slide pitch deck for an AI bookkeeping startup.
Agent: Your deck is ready: pitch-deck.pptx · PDF · preview
Why Plus AI
- AI for professional presentation makers. Plus AI is the highest-rated AI agent on the Microsoft Marketplace. It is designed for people who need high-quality slides with custom templates and professional use cases.
- Native, editable PowerPoint. Plus AI built its own OpenXML renderer, so every slide is real PowerPoint: text, tables, charts and images you can edit. You don't need to worry about compatibility issues when exporting from a different tool. Agent runs also return a PDF and a thumbnail.
- Two speeds. Use the Presentation Agent for polished results and "free-form" slides, or quick template-based generation when you have an existing template and need a deck right away.
- Secure. OAuth sign-in, and Plus AI is SOC 2 Type II compliant.

About Plus AI
Plus AI makes presentations for professionals. It started inside Google Slides and PowerPoint, and its Presentation Agent is now open to AI agents through this MCP server and a REST API. Plus AI is built by Plus Docs, Inc. and is SOC 2 Type II compliant.
When it's the right tool. The user wants an actual PPTX file, not an outline or slide text in the chat. Or they want to edit and enhance an existing PPTX file while preserving their existing layouts, templates, and brand guidelines. The result is a native .pptx that opens in PowerPoint and Google Slides, plus a PDF and a preview image.
What to expect.
- An agent run takes a few minutes and uses AI credits from the user's plan.
- The agent sees only the prompt you send, not your conversation. Put the notes, facts, and figures it should use in the prompt.
- Follow-up changes edit the same deck in place, and the agent remembers what it did earlier in the session.
- To revise a deck the user already has, upload it with
upload_file. Agents that can run shell commands send the file with acurlcommand the tool returns; in ChatGPT, the user attaches the .pptx to the chat. In other clients, the user adds it to their Plus AI workspace first, and you find it withlist_files.
Other ways in.
| Surface | Best for | Auth |
|---|---|---|
MCP server, https://mcp.plusai.com/ | AI agents and MCP clients | OAuth sign-in |
| Presentation Agent API and Presentations API | Scripts, backends, and automations (Zapier, n8n, Make) | API key |
| Google Slides add-on and PowerPoint add-in | People working in their own slides | Plus AI account |
A person creates the Plus AI account and approves the sign-in; agents can't sign up on their own. plusai.com/auth.md summarizes authentication for agents.
Requirements
A Plus AI Pro, Team or Max plan. New customers can start with a 7-day free trial that includes 1,000 AI credits. Agent tasks typically use 40–170 credits.
You don't need an API key: you sign in with your Plus AI account the first time you use the server.
Install
ChatGPT. Open Plugins, select +, then Add custom MCP server. Name it Plus AI, enter https://mcp.plusai.com/ as the server URL with OAuth authentication, and create it. In a chat, type @ and pick Plus AI. See OpenAI's guide.
Claude (claude.ai, desktop and mobile). Go to Customize → Connectors, select + Add, then Add custom connector. Name it Plus AI, enter https://mcp.plusai.com/, and select Continue, then Add. In a chat, turn it on under + → Connectors. On Team and Enterprise plans, an Owner adds it under Organization settings → Connectors and each member selects Connect. See Anthropic's guide.
Claude Code. Install the plugin, which adds the MCP server and the create-presentation skill:
/plugin marketplace add PlusDocs/plus-ai-mcp
/plugin install plus-ai@plus-ai
Then ask for a deck, or run /plus-ai:create-presentation 10-slide Q3 launch deck for the sales team. To add only the MCP server: claude mcp add --transport http plus-ai https://mcp.plusai.com/
Cursor. Settings → Plugins, search Plus AI, Install.
Codex. Add this repository as a plugin marketplace, then install Plus AI.
Any other MCP client. Add the server to the client's MCP config:
{
"mcpServers": {
"plus-ai": {
"type": "streamable-http",
"url": "https://mcp.plusai.com/"
}
}
}
On first use, the client opens a Plus AI sign-in (Google or Microsoft).
Tools
| Tool | What it does | Speed |
|---|---|---|
create_presentation_with_agent | The Plus AI Presentation Agent: plans, writes and designs the deck from a prompt, or revises a deck from your workspace. Returns PowerPoint, PDF and a thumbnail. | Returns within about 45 seconds; the deck takes a few minutes |
continue_presentation_agent_session | Makes a follow-up change to a deck the agent made, editing it in place. | Same as above |
get_presentation_agent_session | Waits for an agent run that was still going when its call returned, and returns the files when it's done. | Waits up to about 45 seconds per call |
upload_file | Uploads a PowerPoint (.pptx, up to 100 MB) for the agent to revise: a file on your computer, or one you attach in ChatGPT. | Seconds |
list_files | Lists the PowerPoints in your Plus AI workspace, to pick one for the agent to revise. | Instant |
open_presentation | Opens the presentation panel for a session ID, or a picker of your recent PowerPoints when called without one. Read-only; never starts generation. | Instant |
create_presentation | Quick, template-based generation from a prompt, a slide count (1–30) and a language. Returns a PowerPoint. | Faster |
In clients that support MCP Apps and in ChatGPT, decks open in a presentation panel instead of only a link. You can page through the slides, download the PowerPoint or PDF, and select a slide to ask for a change; the request is drafted in your chat for you to send, so the panel never spends credits on its own. Other clients get the same text result and a thumbnail.
To revise a deck you already have, ask your agent to edit it:
- Claude Code, Codex, Cursor: point to the file, e.g. "Tighten the wording in ~/decks/Q3 review.pptx". The agent uploads it with
upload_fileand edits it. - ChatGPT: attach the .pptx to the chat and say what to change.
- Other clients: drop the .pptx on the New presentation page at app.plusdocs.com ("Start with an existing PowerPoint"), then ask your agent to edit it; it finds the file with
list_files.
Uploading from an agent needs HTTPS access to s3.us-east-2.amazonaws.com, where the file is sent. Agents on your own machine usually have it. Sandboxed agents may not: in Claude.ai, add that domain to the code execution sandbox's allowed domains under Settings → Capabilities (on Team and Enterprise plans, an owner does this in Organization settings → Capabilities).
The agent edits a copy, so your original file is never changed.
Example prompts
- "Make a 10-slide pitch deck for an AI bookkeeping startup raising a seed round."
- "Turn these meeting notes into a 6-slide board update. Concise and data-driven."
- "Create a 45-minute lesson on photosynthesis for 8th graders, in Spanish."
- "Build a QBR deck for Acme Corp from this data: …"
Notes
- Tools run as the Plus AI user who signs in, in that user's workspace.
- Each presentation uses AI credits from that user's plan, so clients may ask you to confirm each call.
- Plus AI hosts the server. This plugin runs no local code.
