Voice agents cannot wait four seconds or read a JSON blob. How /v/{slug} changes the tool surface.
A coding agent can wait. A voice agent cannot. If a tool takes four seconds, the caller hears silence. If the result is a 12 KB JSON object, the model tries to read it aloud.
Hosted PlugMCP servers get a second URL, /v/{slug}. The gateway trims the tool list, shortens descriptions, sets a hard timeout, and rewrites the result into a sentence a person can hear.
Attach that URL to Retell, Vapi, ElevenLabs, or OpenAI Realtime. Logs still land in your dashboard. You do not maintain two products.
Turn voice on per server in the console. If a call exceeds the timeout, the agent gets a spoken fallback instead of a hung request.
